About the Role
We are looking for a knowledgeable and passionate Instructor to deliver our AI-Powered Cybersecurity course — a hands-on, practitioner-focused program covering core cybersecurity disciplines enhanced with modern AI-driven tools and techniques. This role is ideal for an experienced security professional who can bridge real-world offensive and defensive security practice with the rapidly evolving landscape of AI-assisted cyber operations.
You will teach students essential skills in penetration testing, SOC operations, vulnerability assessment, incident response, and AI security automation, preparing them for industry certifications and careers in cybersecurity. You will also mentor students through practical lab exercises and projects, ensuring they graduate with both the technical depth and the professional readiness the field demands.
What You Will Do
Deliver Curriculum & Instruction
- Plan and deliver engaging lectures, labs, and workshops covering Web Security, Network Security, OWASP Top 10, VAPT, Incident Response, SIEM, and Linux/Windows Security.
- Incorporate AI-focused content including AI Fundamentals, Prompt Engineering, LLMs, AI Security Risks, and AI-powered Security Automation into instructional sessions.
- Conduct practical, hands-on training using industry tools such as Burp Suite, Nmap, Wireshark, Metasploit, Nessus/OpenVAS, Splunk, and AI platforms including ChatGPT and Gemini.
- Design and facilitate lab exercises that simulate real-world attack and defense scenarios relevant to current industry threats.
- Keep course content current with evolving cybersecurity threats, tools, and AI-assisted techniques.
Mentor & Assess Students
- Provide timely, constructive feedback on student lab work, assignments, and projects.
- Support students preparing for industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CEH, PNPT, eJPT, OSCP, and CISSP.
- Hold regular office hours and provide supplemental guidance to students at varying skill levels.
- Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
Program & Community Contribution
- Collaborate with curriculum designers to keep course materials aligned with current industry standards and employer expectations.
- Recommend updates to hands-on labs, toolsets, and case studies based on emerging threats and best practices.
- Participate in faculty meetings, program reviews, and student outcome assessments.
- Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, and growth-oriented learning community.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of professional industry experience as a Penetration Tester, SOC Analyst, VAPT Specialist, or in a comparable cybersecurity role.
- Minimum 1 year of teaching, training, or mentoring experience in Cybersecurity, Ethical Hacking, Penetration Testing, SOC operations, or related subjects.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver practical, lab-based instruction to adult learners; submission of at least 3 recorded sample classes may be required during the evaluation process.
Technical Skills
- Strong working knowledge of Web Security, Network Security, OWASP Top 10, VAPT, Incident Response, SIEM platforms, and Linux/Windows Security administration.
- Hands-on proficiency with industry-standard tools including Burp Suite, Nmap, Wireshark, Metasploit, Nessus or OpenVAS, and Splunk.
- Understanding of AI Fundamentals, Prompt Engineering, and LLM-based technologies as applied to security automation and AI security risks.
- Familiarity with AI-powered security platforms and tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, and related AI tooling).
Soft Skills & Attributes
- Strong communication, presentation, and instructional facilitation skills in both virtual and in-person formats.
- Ability to translate complex security concepts into clear, practical guidance for learners at varying levels.
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing coursework delivery and student mentorship simultaneously.
- Commitment to student success, continuous learning, and inclusive instructional practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CEH, PNPT, eJPT, OSCP, CISSP, or AI-related security certifications.
- Experience preparing students for cybersecurity certification exams and industry career readiness.
- Prior experience with curriculum development, instructional design, or LMS platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud security concepts and platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
